See what I can do for you
Who I am
Hello, I am Roman; a PhD candidate, ML Engineer, Full Stack Developer, and Certified Masseur.
My passions center around grasping in robotics, often using cutting-edge technologies that incorporate the latest research, sometimes as recent as last week. In between my research, I play piano, travel around Germany, write, and occasionally, massage people nearby.
Have a look below to see how I can contribute to your projects.
ML Engineer
Develop and recommend models tailored to your specific needs.
Analytics
Analyze accumulated data to uncover innovative paths for exploration.
Web Design
Craft clean, professional designs focused on your user experience.
Development
Design and build full-stack applications from the ground up.
Starting to discover how life worked. In school, while others used their calculators for algebra, I found myself programming the game 2048 in Basic. Most likely, this moment, combined with my obsessive gaming sessions, made me decide to study computer science.
Before diving into my academic studies, I worked in a human specimen lab, moving human “stuff” from one lab to another.
However, my coding hobby became known, and I was handed the task of creating a supply and human schedule management system. Using more than seven cascaded for-loops, I crafted a system that I hope has since been retired! This experience led me to an in-house web app development team, thus becoming a professional developer, where I worked for several years. My studies in computer science were broad, but it was during this period that the world of machine learning and its applications in robotics caught my eye.
Diving Deep into Machine Learning and Robotics.
With my newfound passion for machine learning, I sought out opportunities to work on reinforcement learning. This led me to my current professor, a mentor whose insights have shaped my understanding of the field. Here, I worked as an assistant and wrote my Bachelor and Master theses.
Now as a researcher.
Joining the PhD program at Robert Bosch, I transitioned to specializing in transfer learning for robotic grasping. The pace of machine learning is breathtaking, with weekly groundbreaking developments. It's an exhilarating, albeit exhausting, race to be part of. Alongside my PhD research, I continue to sharpen my web development and design skills.
